Humble Beginnings
In 1922, Chutaro Kawada, a blacksmith, founded Kawada Ironworks in a small town in Toyama Prefecture, Japan. The Kawada family traces their roots back to metalworkers who crafted swords for Japan’s ancient Samurai. However, as Japan's Samurai era came to an end, Mr. Kawada’s childhood dream of becoming a Samurai swordsmith was shattered. Utilizing his skills as a swordsmith, he took on any steelwork projects he could find. After World War II, Mr. Kawada redirected his energy and talents toward rebuilding Japan, transforming Kawada Ironworks into a civil engineering company dedicated to infrastructure development.
Over the past century, what began as a humble blacksmith shop has grown into a diverse corporation renowned for its quality, customer service, and innovation.
